South Padre TX is a popular resort community, with people coming back regularly for more vacations. The community is on South Padre Island, which is the barrier island on the Texas Gulf. The South Padre TX community just has about 2,500 people as permanent residents. However, this may be an understated value since many homeowners also have residences in the Rio Grande Valley. The low population rate of the community significantly rises during spring break and summer seasons. During spring break at South Padre TX, resorts hold a Texas Week festival. There are other fishing tournaments too, that’ll surely attract the fishing enthusiast. These include the Hooters Tournament, Redfish Rodeo and the Ladies Kingfisher Tournament.
For the music lovers, there is the annual South Padre International Music Festival. Started in 2007, the festival is held every November. Several bands are invited to perform during this event. Fourteen stages are spread out; different music genres are performed in each. This includes reggae, world music, Ska, jazz, rock and more.
