I won a preview copy a few weeks ago and we tried it out. It can be played either with or without the balance board, though I think it would not be as entertaining without the board.

You start out with a selection of about 15 player “avatars” to choose from and have to base your look off them.

you have the option of a tutorial before each of the events, and a choice of difficulty, though I did not notice too much diference between easy and difficult settings.

The water mechanics (physics) are better than most games in that you can drift more realistically off course, depending on the waves and your speed. The trick are performed with different button combonations and wiimote gestures.

Between my wife and I the game was played for the first week and has sat most unused since, as we have both gone back to the Wii Fit or other games.

I think this game has a LOT of potential, but seems as if it was rushed into production too quickly. It would be awesome as a party game, but for the casual player, there are better options out there.
